Book Haul (#19): Book Off in NYC (11 books!)

Two weeks ago, I went to NYC with some of my family and there’s this bookstore in the city that I LOVE to go to. It’s called Book-Off and it’s amazing. It’s kind of hit-or-miss, like any used bookstore, but every time I go, I always find at least a few things that I like and the deals are so good.

  1. The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak — I’ve read this one, but needed a physical non-movie version copy to have for myself. And I found it for only $1.00. It just can’t get any better than that.
  2. Etiquette and Espionage by Gail Carriger — This looks like a cute series and I’ve been meaning to start it. And now that I have the first book, I can push it up my TBR list a bit.
  3. A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving — This one’s on my Books to Read Before I Die list, so I figured I should pick it up. Only $1.00!
  4. The Angel (Original Sinners #2) by Tiffany Reisz — Eeee! SO excited that I found this one! I love, love, love this series so much, and I’ve been working on stockpiling copies of all the books for my library.
  5. The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes by Diane Chamberlain — I love these thriller-type books and this one’s very highly rated on Goodreads!
  6. Clipped Wings by Helena Hunter — The first book in a New Adult contemporary romance series that’s been on my TBR list for a bit.
  7. The Last Forever by Deb Caletti — This book just came out in April but was only $5.00! Awesome score. I LOVED Caletti’s book Stay when I read it last year, so I’m excited to try more from her.
  8. The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty — Can I just tell you guys how much I love this cover? I have a thing for exploding objects on covers.
  9. Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger — I have a destroyed copy of this that I read and liked a while back, so I figured I’d get the pretty hardcover version and replace it for only $1.00.
  10. 365: No Repeats & 30 Minute Meals 2 by Rachael Ray — I will buy pretty much any cookbook if it’s only $1.00…so I ended up with these!

  1. Ooooo, so many good books. I don’t have a ton of good used bookstores around me. I have been meaning to read Etiquette and Espionage for awhile, too. I even own the book, but I still haven’t read it.

Hope you enjoy your goodies and happy reading.
